This cover looks slightly older than the others, even slightly ‘American country club’. The 2 arrows at the top seem to indicate war as they are pointing at each other. The outline of the pig and windmill looks like it is made of barbed wire.
The yellow eyes of the pigs make them look evil. The red indicates blood and violence. Using only red, black and cream is very effective. It looks very dangerous.
If you look closely, it is printed on newspaper and you can see words through the paint like ‘dispute’ and sentences such as ‘US backs down’.

The fields with the pigs just walking around make it look like the pigs own the farm.

The birds look like planes and the medal gives the impression that there will be war. The costume of the pig makes him look very important. The eyes are very small and ‘piggy’ and evil. the Puffin logo in the bottom right hand corner is the old Puffn symbol which shows that it is also one of the older books.
The red that has been scratched in the top right hand corner and in the border of the left side, looks like blood.
It looks like the farm belongs to the animals because the words are painted by what looks like child’s hand.
The white edges of the cover look like a painting being washed away by the rain.

All of the animals look very angry at the pig who looks like he is angry at the animals.
this cover has the brightest colours of all of them. The sky is a blood red.
It looks like the farm belongs to the animals because the words are painted by what looks like child’s hand.
Much of the leftover space is taken up by the blood red sky.
